PR GEO

PR GEO: Strengthen your brand’s presence and narrative in sources that AI verifies.

When someone asks an AI about your company or a solution like yours, your website might be just one of the available references. Media outlets, trade publications, and other websites can also provide information about your brand.

At Azurally, we use GEO PR to identify these sources and develop communication opportunities that support your expertise, your products, and your services. We start with your GEO strategy, analyze the insights relevant to your business, and determine where it makes sense to provide information, what approach to take, and what evidence to present.

The goal is to improve your brand’s presence and context on external sources, increasing the chances that it will be understood and taken into account in AI responses.

What is PR GEO?

PR GEO is public relations work that connects a brand’s external communications with its visibility strategy in artificial intelligence.

Analyze which media outlets and publications are cited as references in searches relevant to the business. Based on that analysis, identify opportunities to contribute your own information, expert knowledge, and evidence-based messages.

The service may include media relations, interviews, specialized articles, press releases, and editorial contributions, depending on the project’s objectives.

Both the company’s presence and its context are important: what is explained about the company, what topics it relates to, and what arguments allow us to evaluate its proposal.

Why Focus on PR GEO?

What’s published about your company also plays a role in how it’s perceived

Imagine that your brand has expanded its services, but external publications still describe its previous activities. Or that you have a relevant area of expertise, yet there are hardly any references explaining it.

A customer researching your company may find incomplete information. An AI that looks at those same pages may also pick up on that version.

PR GEO allows us to analyze these differences and determine where information needs to be updated, context needs to be provided, or an experience that doesn’t yet have sufficient external visibility needs to be highlighted. This isn’t just from an external perspective, but also by analyzing the sources we’ve identified that AI uses to answer questions—because the brand needs to position itself. Depending on the GEO Key Concepts, some sources will be more relevant than others—even depending on the specific AI. ChatGPT and Google AI Mode, for example, do not necessarily draw information from the same sources, even across different versions of ChatGPT (paid and free).

A relevant publication can be more valuable than many media mentions that AI systems don’t take into account

. Appearing in the media is most useful when the information helps explain why your company is relevant to a particular topic.

An interview can shed light on your team’s experience. An in-house study can provide data for the industry. A documented case study can show how a problem was solved.

The PR GEO strategy links these contributions to the questions that matter to your clients. As a result, communication efforts serve a specific purpose within the project and provide content that is relevant to the audience of each publication.

Azurally’s Methodology for Working on PR GEO

The overall GEO strategy serves as the starting point

At Azurally, GEO PR is carried out within a GEO project and is based on a previously defined strategy.

This strategy outlines the GEO Key Concepts: the topics, needs, and areas of expertise where we want your brand to gain a presence. It also outlines the GEO Key Messages: the ideas we need to communicate and the data, experiences, or evidence that support them.

PR work translates that strategic direction into external communication opportunities. We determine what your company can contribute to each conversation, which sources are relevant, and what approach is most helpful for your readers and AI systems.

Each action tailors the message to the editorial context. Whether it’s an interview, an op-ed, or an industry publication, it must provide information that is relevant to its audience and remain consistent with the brand’s overall messaging.

We prioritize sources based on their relevance to AIs

We review a sample of questions related to your products, services, and areas of expertise.

We look at which brands are mentioned, which websites are cited, and what information they provide. We distinguish between searches that include your company’s name and those in which the user is still exploring options.

This analysis guides the selection of media and opportunities. The sources visible in a response provide evidence that we can study, although they do not reveal all the information that influenced its creation.

A specialized publication may be appropriate for explaining a technical issue, while a general-interest media outlet can offer a different context and reach. The choice depends on what your company needs to communicate and the value it can provide.

The selection process also identifies editorial opportunities for sponsored formats, whose terms are defined transparently.

We coordinate communication, content, and measurement

We develop proposals with the relevant teams and ensure that the messages are current and verifiable.

We then review the resulting publications and track the evolution of brand representation in the monitored search queries.

What’s Included in the GEO PR Service

The service is tailored to brands, e-commerce businesses, and service companies that need to strengthen their external presence as part of a GEO strategy.

The scope may include diagnosis, planning, content development, media relations, and follow-up.

  • AI Visibility Analysis. We analyze how your brand appears in selected search queries and which publications are cited.
  • Media Map. We identify general-interest media outlets, industry publications, expert blogs, guides, and other platforms relevant to your business. We assess their relevance to the project based on their importance to AI.
  • GEO PR Plan. We translate the strategy into concrete actions: which topics to address, which messages to promote, which spokespersons can participate, and what materials are needed. The plan establishes priorities, a timeline, and dependencies. It can be reviewed monthly or quarterly, depending on the project’s needs. It serves as a roadmap that links PR actions to the GEO Key Concepts and GEO Key Messages.
  • Creation and Optimization of Media Content. We prepare content, interview proposals for spokespersons, and other agreed-upon materials.
  • Media Relations and Activation. If necessary, we submit proposals to selected media outlets and coordinate the opportunities included in the service. The publication and final approach depend on each media outlet’s conditions and editorial decisions. For sponsored collaborations, we specify the format, commercial identification, and reach.
  • Measurement and Monitoring. We track the publications secured, the topics covered, and the accuracy with which messages are presented. In the AI query sample, we review mentions, citations, visible sources, and brand representation.

Benefits of PR GEO

  • Identify where to provide relevant information. We have criteria for selecting media outlets and publications related to your GEO objectives.
  • Enhance your brand authority. These actions allow you to explain your company’s experience, products, and services in greater depth.
  • Strengthen external endorsement of your messages. You’ll build references that help customers verify what your brand communicates.

How does PR GEO differ from traditional PR?

Both focus on media relations, reputation management, and communication with audiences.

PR GEO incorporates AI-powered analysis of responses and the sources cited in AI-relevant queries.

Do I need a GEO strategy before I get started?

Yes. In Azurally’s methodology, GEO PR is based on the overall GEO project strategy.

If it has already been defined, we use its concepts, messages, and priorities. If it does not yet exist, we need to establish that foundation before planning the PR actions.

What media are used in PR GEO?

It depends on your industry, the search queries analyzed, and what your company can contribute.

These may include general-interest media, specialized publications, expert blogs, guides, comparison sites, and other relevant platforms. Not all of them accept the same type of collaboration or offer the same editorial opportunities.

Does AI always cite the most well-known media outlets?

Not necessarily. The analyzed results may include specialized publications or specific pages from lesser-known sources. In many cases, AIs place greater weight on media outlets that consumers perceive as “less important” for a specific industry. Sometimes, they even consider only certain sections of a website or specific content—not the domain itself. You might appear in a very well-known outlet that’s heavily used by an AI, but still have no impact on AI rankings because the content isn’t located where the AI sees value within that domain.

That’s why we review your presence for each topic, without assuming that an outlet’s reach is equivalent to its frequency of citation in AI rankings.

Does PR GEO involve buying publications or links?

Not exclusively—that would just be a PR service. PR GEO is about making sense of how to improve and help shape your brand’s narrative in AI. The service may include editorial partnerships and, when appropriate, clearly identified sponsored content.

The selection process is based on the relevance of the publication and the content your company can contribute. The number of links or impressions, on its own, does not reflect the value of the strategy.

Can you guarantee that a publication will be cited by an AI?

No. Publishing in a media outlet does not guarantee that the content will be retrieved or cited.

We analyze opportunities and improve the quality and context of the available information, but the selection of sources and the final response depend on each AI. What we do is optimize the sources the AI is already using for the brand so that it takes them into greater account or improves its perception of or narrative about the brand.

Can you coordinate with my team or communications agency?

Yes. We define how to incorporate GEO criteria into planning, materials, and measurement. The scope specifies what each team contributes, who manages media relations, and how messages are validated.
